The TZF was incorporated as the Thurman-Zumwalt Foundation for Toxic and Infectious Agents in the State of North Carolina on May 22, 2001. The corporation is a charitable organization as defined in North Carolina General Statutes Section 55A-1-40(4). The corporation has been granted an exempt status for franchise and income tax purposes under Sections 105-125 and 105-130.11(a)(3), respectively, of the General Statutes of North Carolina.
On December 5, 2001, the United States Internal Revenue Service recognized the Thurman-Zumwalt Foundation as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) and Section 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 with the assigned EIN of 56-2264997.
The TZF is now actively seeking funding to allow its research operations to start: Both corporations and members of the public are being approached for charitable donations. Funding from state and/or federal sources, which would not compromise the TZF’s independence, will also be sought. Should you wish to make a donation, please contact us.
